All our Cotons are fully DNA health tested & CLEAR for:
Canine Multi-Focal Retinopathy (CMR2) Hyperuricosuria (HUU), PrImary Lens Luxation (PLL) Von Willebrand Disease Type 1 (VWD Type 1), Degenerative Myleopathy (DM), Primary Hyperoxaluria (PHPT), Malignant Hyperthermia (MH), Chondrodystrophy (CDDY/IVDD) & Chondrodysplasia (CDPA) Neonatal Ataxia (NA) Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-PRCD)
The most important tests are CDDY Chondrodystrophy with risk of IVDD Intervertebral disk disease & DM Degenerative Myleopathy as these are structural disorders that can affect the Cotons spine causing paralysis or early death.
You may think dna testing don’t apply to you as you only want a pet. These tests are extremely important and will save you thousands of pounds making sure your Coton is as healthy as possible.
Careful not all breeder’s do health tests and often talk about champion linage. If the dogs are not healthy it makes no difference what lines the breeder has in their pedigrees champion or not.
